The Sample: IT Cosmetics Live, Love, Laugh Vitality Face Disc (Review, Swatches & Photos)

I had never heard of IT Cosmetics before until very recently, when I began hearing some buzz about the brand. What sealed the deal for me, though, was when Best Things in Beauty began raving about the brand (here and here). If the queen of high-end, high-quality makeup can’t say enough good things about the brand, then you know it has to be good! I was sent the Live, Love, Laugh Vitality Face Disc for review and obviously, I had high hopes for this palette already!

This 3-in-1 cheek palette from IT Cosmetics features their Vitality Glow Anti-Aging Matte Bronzer, Radiance Illuminizer, and Brightening Blush Tint. The bronzer is a medium-dark matte chocolate-brown shade. The Radiance Illuminizer is a gorgeous, pearly champagne-beige. The Brightening Blush is a medium coral-pink laced with a lovely golden shimmer. According to IT, these powders contain Hydrolyzed Collagen, Vitamins A, C, and E, grapeseed oil, green tea, silk, and aloe to nourish and protect your skin. All 3 shades are also waterproof and sweatproof, non-comedogenic, and hypoallergenic.

See my hand peeking out from behind there?! :P

As you can see, the compact is bigit’s just about the size of a regular CD. This might normally present a bit of a problem if you are the type to take your cheek color with you on the go for touch-ups. Luckily, these powders have high-performance formulas that are meant to wear all day, so touch-ups will become a thing of the past! The compact is black and rubberized, similar to Nars’ packaging and Becca’s packaging.

Now on to the important part–the powders, starting with the Vitality Glow Anti-Aging Matte Bronzer. It’s described as a “universal bronzer infused with anti-aging peptides and hyaluronic-filling spheres.”  The powder is very smooth, silky, and finely-milled. It has a medium hardness–not soft and buttery and not hard or stiff. As for the shade, it doesn’t pull orange in the slightest and is so stunning on the cheeks. I think it would be great for warm and cool skin tones, but probably ideal for light to medium skin (darker tones might have trouble getting it to show up). It’s crazy natural-looking and is beautiful on the skin!

The Radiance Illuminizer is a bit softer than the bronzer, though every bit as smooth and silky. This highlighter uses Drops of Light Technology, which incorporates “liquid crystals infused into light reflecting pigments”. This highlighter produces an almost ethereal glow–it’s very radiant and very pretty. But because the shimmer is very fine, it can pack quite a punch and look very intense if you overapply. Applied correctly, I think it gives me the most natural highlight I’ve seen out of all the other highlighters I own.

Because I know you are thinking it: the Brightening Blush isn’t an exact dupe for Nars Orgasm, but it is close. The Brightening Blush is much more pigmented, more pink, and less shimmery. It might look very shimmery in the pan, but I find that once on the skin, it creates a very soft, even golden sheen. The shimmer in Orgasm is just too much for my taste and emphasizes my (already large) pores. IT Cosmetics’ Brightening Blush is the perfect amount of shimmery. It gives a lovely golden glow but doesn’t steal the show from the gorgeous pink color. The Brightening Blush will be immensely flattering on all skin tones.

All 3 of these powders are very pigmented–especially the blush, so do keep that in mind! As someone who has a tendency to overapply cheek color, I find that I have to be really careful when applying these. Too much and I have instant clown cheeks with a bright, spotlit beam of a highlight instead of a soft, glow. A fan brush or duo-fibre brush both work well to lay down a sheer, diffused wash of color. The bronzer is the easiest to work with, for me. It’s slightly less pigmented, though that definitely doesn’t mean it’s not pigmented.

I mentioned before that these are long-wearing formulas. When I read that bit, I didn’t pay it much mind but really and truly, these powders stay put–even on my oily skin! I usually have problems getting any powder formula to wear for longer than about 6 hours-ish, but this one wore for most the day (10 hours or so). They seem to cling really well (which can make them a teeny bit difficult to blend out so again, be careful with how much you apply!) and upon application, they practically become one with your skin. These powders are virtually weightless and meld with the skin so beautifully!

I was very, very impressed with this cheek palette. It contains beautiful shades that flatter everyone and that everyone wants to wear. The formulas are impeccably done and the amount you get is great for the price. All in all, I’d say you definitely need to check out this brand–I’m very happy with the quality and can’t wait to try more from them!

Pros: beautiful colors that compliment each other and suit a variety of skin tones; texture is incredible–very silky and very smooth; very pigmented formula; the shimmer is flattering, not adolescent; great value

Cons: these powders–most notably the blush–may be a bit harder to blend out than your average powder

That highlighter is gorgeous! I keep hearing good things about this brand.

I know–I hadn’t heard too much about the brand either until recently. So glad I got a chance to try it out–I think you would love this palette, Emi! :)

Whoa that is big. I rally like the blush. I’ve tried Orgasm too and liked it but sometimes I want something with less shimmers! Great review!

Haha isn’t it? :P I was unsure about this and one reason was due to the size of the compact, but trust me–the powders are AMAZING! I fall more and more in love with the bronzer every time I use it–it looks insanely beautiful on the skin! Have you tried anything from IT Cosmetics, Sarah?

I just recently learned about IT cosmetics from my co-worker who I didn’t know was a secret beauty junkie/avid QVC shopper. She gave me their lip balm which is clear but adjusts to various pinks based on your temperature. Their mascara is lovely too. :)

Oooh yay–you have someone to talk beauty with at work now! :D I have their Vitality Lip Flush too–can’t wait to test it out! Which one did you get, Chris?

That blush, that blush!!! I am not familiar with this brand, but now I’m going to look into it :)

    • becca December 13, 2012 at 9:19 pm #

I know–it’s a brand I hadn’t heard too much about, but their powder formula absolutely blew me away!! Try it if you can!! :D

It’s so weird – my aunt buys a lot of things on the beauty networks (like on tv?), and she got me a few things from IT before and it looked hokey so I’m fairly certain I gave them away LOL. Packaging means a lot, sad to say! This palette is probably another one I’d pass on just because it’s crazy-huge, but it looks awfully nice in the pan and in your swatches! I gotta stop being such a snob about these things, eh? lol!

    • becca December 13, 2012 at 9:28 pm #

LOL! Yeah…I hate to say it, but I was really unsure of the brand too at first. I only decided to give it a try once I saw all of Charleston Girl’s reviews. Still, I am a packaging whore too–so don’t worry :P The packaging might not blow me away, but the products themselves certainly do.

  5. Larie December 13, 2012 at 7:05 pm #

Holy pigmentation, batman! Gorgeous! I haven’t really heard much about this brand, actually. But I really like all three of these shades together!

    • becca December 13, 2012 at 9:33 pm #

Their powder formula is phenomenal, Larie! The packaging is kinda eh but it’s what’s inside that counts, right?! :P

  6. Taylor December 14, 2012 at 1:14 am #

Beautiful, I love the shades! But wow that’s big, haha. Everything I’ve tried from IT I have loved. They don’t get enough hype. Im in love with their bye bye under-eye, it exceptionally! I would love to try this too!

    • becca December 14, 2012 at 1:28 am #

LOL isn’t it? :P The powders inside are just beautiful though–they are virtually undetectable on the skin. It’s fantastic! I can’t wait to try the Lip Flushes and will definitely look into the Bye Bye Under-Eye now too! :D

OK seriously why have I not paid attention to this brand before? THIS IS SO PRETTY! I know exactly what you mean about the shimmer in Orgasm – even though I like shimmery, glowy blushes, Orgasm is just too much (at least for daytime). The bronzer looks like such a great shade, one that could double for a blush on deeper skins. And the highlight is so sheen-y without being glittery – the finish reminds me of my Sleek highlighter, but the texture of this sounds a bit better (though the Sleek isn’t bad, just a bit dry/hard)

    • becca December 14, 2012 at 5:18 am #

I know I wouldn’t have thought it would be SO effing pretty just from looking at the packging, but I am amazed. Even though I love all three a lot, the bronzer has to be the stand-out for me. I think it has just a teeny touch of red in it which mimics a natural tan perfectly. It’s really gorgeous!

  8. Icaria December 15, 2012 at 2:01 pm #

OMGosh! Gorgeous! That blush is beautiful!

    • becca December 15, 2012 at 9:01 pm #

I am in love with the whole palette, Icaria! It’s a bit too pigmented but I guess that’s better than not pigmented enough…:P

  9. Popblush December 16, 2012 at 10:07 am #

I love that there are three gorgeous shades in the one palette. I agree with Icaria – the blush is so beautiful, especially the close up! You’re right, its not as sparkly as what it looks like in the pan. Great review!

    • becca December 16, 2012 at 10:28 pm #

Thanks hon! Yeah, I really like this palette–a lot more than I thought I would :P It’s gorgeous and the quality is amazing! Loving this brand so far!

  10. Joyce (bronzerbunny) December 17, 2012 at 4:05 am #

wow, that pink is impressive! it looks like a great overall palette to have. i’m glad you are enjoying it! :)

    • becca December 17, 2012 at 7:46 am #

It’s really great! Surprisingly, the bronzer is my favorite of the three (the pink is pretty but a tad bit too pigmented/hard to blend out for my clumsy self :P)

  11. Liz December 21, 2012 at 5:18 pm #

Sweatproof and $38 for that massive thing??? SIGN ME UP. This thing looks perfect for throwing into a bag and jetting off on a vacay! The colours do look rather familiar but we can never get enough variety on that sort of shades, can we? :D

    • becca December 21, 2012 at 5:27 pm #

I know for the price and amount of product you get, the value is awesome, huh? These are some of the longest lasting powders I’ve found, which is saying a lot for someone with super oily skin! I think you’d love it, Liz!!
